On March 19, 1945… the USS Franklin CV-13 and nicknamed Big Ben, is seen here heavily listing to starboard after a lone dive bomber equipped with armor piercing bombs attacked prior to the Franklin launching her fully armed aircraft that were warming up on deck. She (the USS Franklin) is credited as the most heavily damage Carrier to survive WW II.
